Buying on a Budget

Simply put, Independent Living provides direct instruction on the life skills necessary to be successful adults after high school.  Assigned as a breakfast class, knowledge is “shared at the table” on money, checking and savings accounts, smart shopping, buying a first car, saving for college, and how to get your first job.

On the more technical side, the course curriculum incorporates math (household and business math), reasoning (making business choices), writing (critiques, how to’s, and product evaluations), and critical thinking skills (a serious look at all of the above to make business and household decisions)
